Anyways
05:15
|
|||
Another morning spent so far away
where the breakfast is a joke
the travelers all convene in the lobby
for a sub-par cup of coffee and a smoke
before they're back in their respective spaces
of solitude out on the open road
a paradise so pretty you can't share it
boy, it's only yours, and yours alone
I wonder if the dues that I've been paying
will guarantee me a degree
or maybe it's the pain that I'm enduring
that holds me back from what I need, from where I wanna be
You spend a day, you meet a girl you're fond of
it's just enough time to wonder where she's been
she's making eyes while you're singing softly
and for the night, you believe in love again
before you blink, you're packing up and leaving
she's ripped away as quickly as she came
and you're reminded why you just can't keep it
'cause keeping it would mean you'd have to stay
It's not so much that I'm surprised you're leaving
I just was hoping you'd stay
Love is really never meant to work out anyways.

Under The Moon
05:38
|
|||
Been waking up early when that morning June light shines it
Been waking up early just to see that new light hit your skin
& I know I don't wanna leave you,
but I know I've gotta clock in up the block
It's here I wish I could keep you,
while I'm there pretending I'm someone that I'm not
Soon, I'll see you
Under the moon
Been staying up late, serving up peace of mind in a cup
Been testing my fate, bike to your place as soon as I get cut
I know our timing ain't perfect,
& it's scary having it all come at once
I assure you that it's worth it,
if you just make some room for the both of us.
Soon, I'll see you
Under the moon
A sky so new,
and un-assumed
With a city's view,
what we could do
Been testing my patience, and respecting your wishes in good faith
Been packing up clothing and dishes to be shipped to a new place
I know it wasn't in our textbooks
that we laid out when we started this page
But I just can't look past you,
or stomach "the wrong time and place"
Soon, I'll see you
Under the moon.

Life Goes On
04:03
|
|||
You can't lose something you never owned
and you can't change the way the river flows
you put in time, then changed your mind
and now you're all alone
& now you've gotta leave all that you've known
but life goes on and on
on and on and on
But what if it's not worth the wait?
And the time that you put in all goes to waste
You'll understand, I must make my plans
Constantly progressing on and on
I don't own a shirt ain't slightly stained
just a little love, more comfortable that way
and every little mark is a checkpoint of how far
I have gone to add depth to my name
and life goes on and on
on and on and on
But what if it's not worth the wait?
And the time that you put in all goes to waste
You'll understand, I must make my plans
Constantly progressing on and on

Lavender
05:45
|
|||
Captured all the moments in gold light
in a wide-eyed lens that fit into the frame
Stardust melodies are singing softly
like daisy's pressed inside a lifeless page
Oh, baby won't you please
bury me in lavender and sleep
Oh, I never wanna go away
I don't need, anything
Won't you please believe
Book of dreams is sitting on the nightstand
Skipping class so she could enjoy the rain
I see the windflowers alive along the highway
dancing in the wind on 17
Oh, the mountains call you home
Wherever you decide that you may roam
Oh, I never wanna go away
I don't need, anything
Won't you please believe
Delicate reminders of innocence
Like cardboard boxes lining every hall
I still find something bright in these dark times
I'd rather just run from it all
Oh, baby won't you please
bury me in lavender and sleep
Oh, I never wanna go away
I don't need, anything
Won't you please believe
Won't you believe
