Waiting On Me
04:06
|
|||
Dream of the Seventies
Like they were always meant for me
Escaping my presentry
With a mental serenity
If she’ll come along,
Maybe it’s not so lonely
Spotlight in the dark
Don’t you let go of me, only
Are you waiting on me?
To take you far away from everything you see
It’s not my liberty
Which direction her compass leads
All to believe in a dream
Not a memory
Not her or me
To decide what’s reality
But we’ll keep on singing
In tune with this symphony

ORANGEBLUE
03:39
|
|||
Creamy goo, ORANGEBLUE
Brooklyn roof sunset view
Knowing you are watching too
Thinking through what i’ll do
Streaks of white from avtur burn
Like facial lines on Mother Earth
You’re the sky, sun & moon
Want nothing more than ORANGEBLUE
ORANGE
BLUE
Lately, time’s been out of tune
Sirens singing over you
Nothing’s everything to do
Soaking up your ORANGEBLUE
ORANGE
BLUE
It was only yesterday
When the world was ours to make
Now we’ll never leave this cage

Alpenglow

Thursday, the world set on fire
Sickening all the lungs of the weak
Frightened like a rabbit on a wire
M Train screechy halt so metaphorically
We choose how we deal with disaster
Do we rise above or crumble to our knee?
There’ll surely be no ever after
If we don’t help our neighbor to their feet
I just can’t leave it all behind
It still makes me feel so alive
But I miss the peace & the quiet
Pour wine and dream
Of who I want to be
Friday, the times are getting bleaker
All our hearts apart at least six feet
Can’t help but scream it through these speakers
But we’ll only take the love we think we need
Nothing is scaring me faster
Than not knowing who or what I should believe
We built these walls to shelter from the cold years
Now we’re freezing for eternity
I just can’t leave it all behind
It still makes me feel so alive
But I miss the peace & the quiet
Pour wine and dream
Of where I want to be

Mountainside
05:28
|
|||
Just dying to spend some time inside your room
Wonderings of all the pretty things you do
Deep inside your head, and on your pillow, too
Dreaming of the day this all comes over you
Like a river when the tide is much too high
You’ve swallowed all the marsh along my mountainside
I’ll let you form new precedenting lines
And wash away all my pretty, precious time
But my only glimpse into your room is heard
In the little lullabies you send me when you’re feeling hurt
The songs you scream to get out of your head
& get back to a life that all your friends expect you in
But time is of the essence, oh my dear
I’m almost twenty four, and there’s still so much more to hear
& if you run with me, we’ll see the sun
Nothings truly beautiful before the work is done
It’s not brave to be alone
You claim you crave adventure, here’s a hand to hold
What’s beyond this we will never know,
Until we give our all

Waiting Around
04:36
|
|||
Take the lead, shuffle ‘round the floor
Show them what you mean, flex a little more
Claim you need to barricade your door
Just to bare your teeth, a folly carnivore
It’s a tease, a dirty, rotten whore
The way they dangle dreams, and run you ‘till you’re sore
So I’ll secede, and let them win the war
As long as I can sing, but can I anymore?
You fed me scraps and chained me to a tree
Said “don’t make a sound”
You cut my eyes and claimed I couldn’t see
Just a blink and I’m down
Just waiting around
Six A.M, waking on the floor
Another circle day, just strumming these six chords
Read and make what wasn’t there before
What good does sunshine bring when we’re all stuck indoors?
My heart bleeds but I just can’t afford
To pay such high a fee, who am I singing for?

Ginger Chew
04:13
|
|||
I had my last ginger chew after a week with you, love
By the open blue I’ll sing a sunset tune for two, love
Now we’re stuck inside this cage with memories on replay of
Times when skies were not so grey, a mirror in a frame of
ORANGEBLUE, sunset view
There’s no ORANGEBLUE without you
Toast bread, avocado tastes best waking up in your bed
French press, shut out all the darkness, kiss away the weekend
ORANGEBLUE, sunset view
There’s no ORANGEBLUE without you
Read the morning news, a shortened fuse
Now I’m torn to choose, and paying dues
That first glimpse in your room
Heard it in a lullaby tune
Sirens sing over you
When Nothing’s Everything to do
When the world is so skewed
Spotlight in the dark, your breaking through
Need the ORANGEBLUE
But only if you’re watching it too

Roses On The Floor
03:40
|
|||
Sitting facing South on a Northbound moving train
Unaware of how, come a month it all would change
I pass the waiting room, in a way, I’m waiting too
To lay in bed come your week’s end and fade into the Blue
& the Green in your eyes
Like foam on the shore
In every sunrise
Every sunset even more
With every goodbye,
Like rose petals on the floor
Now I’m stringing out on your parent’s basement couch
Can’t wrap my head around how the past few months went down
Another sunset tune, A New England summer you
A better place to change the pace
And sail into the Blue
& the Green in your eyes
Like foam on the shore
In every sunrise
Every sunset even more
With every goodbye,
Like rose petals on the floor

A Better Place
04:28
|
|||
I won’t wait for the day just to come along
To take my pain & replace it with something warm
A better place at a pace I can run along with you
Dreaming of the seventies
And all the places I would rather be
Lately days have latency
And all the dissonance is silencing
But what if it’s not up to me?
And what if it’s just out of reach?
What’s the point if no one needs?
A sunset you will never see
I won’t wait for the day just to come along
To take my pain & replace it with something warm
A better place at a pace I can run along with you
You and I had found our peace
In the ORANGEBLUE eternity
With evergreens all we could see
Two squirrels scuttle in the Old Oak Tree
But who am I unaccompanied?
A paddle boat at open sea
A mutt they chain me to the tree
They cut my eyes and let me bleed
I won’t wait for the day just to come along
To take my pain & replace it with something warm
A better place at a pace I can run along with you
A sunset tune just for two is a metaphor
For somewhere new with a view we’ve been waiting for
The ORANGEBLUE, I refuse to give up a world with you
I won’t wait
Take my pain
A better place
With you
A sunset tune
Somewhere new
ORANGEBLUE
With you

Apple Cheeks
06:02
|
|||
Wearing that shirt you like
A wrinkled wreck, but you don’t mind
Sharing our space in life
I know the times your troubles mine
In your mind
We can be what wasn’t there before
Let’s show them what we mean
Let’s sing a little more
You opened up and swallowed my core
Plant seeds in your pores
Apple Cheeks and rosey nose
Not afraid to say I love you so
Just dancing to Marigold
In seconds flat we’re growing old
The greatest story told
We can be what wasn’t there before
Let’s take all that we need
Let’s open every door
You found me drown’n pulled me to shore
A rose on the floor
